In Loving Memory

I would like to share some heartbreaking news about my beloved John. It is with a heavy heart that I write this epitaph.

John went home to the Lord on 25 December 2010, on Christmas morning. He had suffered a massive heart attack at home and passed away peacefully in hospital. That was a terribly sad day for me, and this year has been one filled with poignant memories and difficult adjustments..

Art was his passion as well as cross-stitching, and to be able to translate great works of art into cross stitch gave him a tremendous amount of joy. He wanted to share this with the world and therefore created this website.

John was a very generous and giving person, very warm-hearted, very caring. If someone expressed a love for a particular pattern or artwork, he would sometimes give that person the pattern as a gift. Over the years he had stitched many pieces and given them away as gifts to family and friends. That was just his way of sharing with the world.

The website was a labour of love for him, and I was privileged to have the opportunity to learn how to design patterns and work on the website together with him. This is the legacy that he has left to me and I will continue his dream, for that is what he would have wanted. He also leaves behind two beautiful daughters and three precious grand-children.

He was my love, my life, my husband and best friend. I was very blessed to have found my soul mate and profoundly sad to lose him. He will be forever loved and always remembered.

He lives on in his work.

Though lovers be lost love shall not;

And death shall have no dominion.
